Hi Jim,

I just found your site. you have some great ideas.

I like the idea of using the arrows with the nocks cut off for the supports. If you could fasion an angular connector on the hollow end (similar to a tubing conector for aquarium hoses), you could turn the kitescreen over and connect a cross piece to make it freestanding. You would need to put a rock or a similarly available "heavy item" to prevent the kite from blowing away. This would make it usable in rocky areas.

Great idea...

By the way, there's a some new companion info about the KiteScreen over at Will Rietveld has done a lot of additional testing that you might be interested in reading about. BPL membership is required for most of the content, but the site is well worth the small annual subscription fee, at least for anyone serious about backpacking.
