Supercat flame blocker for cup handle

I love my supercat but don't like the flame heating the fold out handle on my cooking cup.

What I did was make a heat shield that blocks the flame just under the handle. Take heavy aluminum foil and cut a 1" wide strip about 4 inch long. Using scissors make two cuts at one end, about as deep as the can. Fold right where the cuts end and they can clip onto the edge of the can. The other end of the strip is folded and trimmed so the shield is level.

Not only does this shield leave the handles managably cool, the cup or pot may be slid over part way on the shield for more stability, or to simmer.

Debbi -- Great idea. You can also build a heat shield into a windscreen, such as that incorporated into the new Fire Bucket stove system.
